Finance Analyst (On-Site) - Entry Level

Sweetwater Care - Carlsbad, CA

As a Finance Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting financial reporting, cash management, and compliance across our portfolio of skilled nursing facilities and related real estate entities. This is an excellent opportunity to build depth in healthcare finance, treasury, and multi-entity reporting.

About the Role

The Finance Analyst supports financial reporting, cash management, and compliance across the organization's portfolio of skilled nursing facilities and related real estate entities. This role reports to the Senior Financial Analyst, with support to the Director of Finance. As a detail-oriented analyst, you will prepare analyses, maintain trackers and schedules, and execute recurring reporting and compliance tasks.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis :

    • Assemble monthly financial statement packages for lenders, landlords, and other stakeholders; maintain the distribution list and delivery log.

    • Perform first-pass review of P&L statements and Balance Sheets for coding errors, unusual balances, and month-over-month swings.

    • Draft preliminary variance commentary (e.g., bad debt, agency and overtime labor, supplies) for Senior Analyst review.

    • Compile data for monthly operational scorecards and update scorecard templates.

  • Cash Management & Treasury :

    • Prepare payroll funding schedules and cash requirement forecasts for review and approval.

    • Maintain the rent payment calendar and tracks confirmations to ensure timely disbursement.

    • Prepare recurring intercompany transfers and payment templates for approval; reconcile completed cash movements.

    • Compile documentation for funding and reimbursement requests with external partners.

  • Audit & Compliance :

    • Manage the HUD audit PBC (provided-by-client) list: gather documentation, track open requests, and coordinate follow-ups with auditors.

    • Organize and maintain supporting files for audit readiness in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.

    • Track audit findings and support remediation follow-through.

  • Accounting :

    • Assist with monthly close for Propco entities, including account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entry preparation.

    • Prepare entries and supporting schedules for new loans, refinancing, and capital activity for review.

  • Contract & Covenant Reporting :

    • Maintain lease and loan obligations in Contract Safe, including reporting deadlines, renewal dates, and required deliverables.

    • Send deadline reminders and tracks completion of lender/landlord reporting requirements.

    • Prepare financial covenant calculations (e.g., DSCR, rent coverage) for Senior Analyst review.

    • Distribute recurring and ad hoc reports to lenders and landlords.

  • Tax :

    • Run monthly Tax Guard reports, research flagged liabilities, and escalate items with recommended next steps.

    • Gather information requested by external tax advisors and tracks open inquiries.

    • Prepare supporting schedules for tax distributions per advisor guidance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • 1-4 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or financial analysis; healthcare or real estate experience preferred

  • Solid understanding of GAAP, financial statements, and account reconciliations

  • Advanced Excel (lookups, pivot tables, structured workbooks); Power BI a plus

  • Experience with Sage Intacct or a comparable cloud ERP preferred

  • Strong organization and follow-through across multiple entities and deadlines

  • Clear written communication; comfortable corresponding with auditors, lenders, and advisors

Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000
